Vaccine Titers

Vaccine titers give valuable information about your companion’s immunity. When traveling to a country or region that is free of the Rabies Virus, a companion entering from the US has to have proof that the immune system has been properly fortified against the Rabies virus (among other requirements as dictated by that country or region). Rabies titers provide proof of immune competence so your companion can be cleared for travel. Only an accredited veterinarian like Dr. April is authorized to submit this test. Non-Rabies vaccine titers are extremely useful for patients that have had an adverse reaction to vaccines in the past or patients for whom vaccines can be dangerous. Patient immunity is monitored with annual titers for distemper virus and parvovirus antibodies.
